The 1.6T OSFP DR8+ extends the DR8 architecture to 2km, covering building-to-building campus spans and the longest in-facility runs that standard 500m DR8 cannot reach. Eight parallel 200G PAM4 lanes at 1311nm run over single-mode fiber through an MPO-16/APC interface - the same cabling as DR8, so both variants share one fiber plant design.
Choose DR8+ where row-to-row or hall-to-hall distances stretch beyond 500m but a full duplex-WDM design is unnecessary.
