The 1.6T OSFP DR8 delivers 1.6 terabits per second over eight parallel single-mode fibers, each lane running 200G PAM4 at 1311nm. With 500m reach via an MPO-16/APC interface, it is the workhorse configuration for in-building XDR-class AI fabric links - the direct successor to 800G DR8-style connectivity, on the same MPO-16 cabling philosophy.
The OSFP form factor carries forward from the 800G generation with 8x200G electrical lanes, letting operators reuse thermal designs and cage infrastructure planned for OSFP224.
